Faction Aligned Ship Manufacturers / Companies

There are three primary, Council of Peace (COP) factions and four minor factions in Star Atlas. The safe and medium risk zones are dominated by the MUD, ONI, and USTUR Council factions. The main ship manufacturers, having set up commerce in these zones, have established corporate alignments across the COP.

Gaining access to manufacturer blueprints requires accumulated manufacturer loyalty. This will function like a reputation system. The more loyalty one garners within a manufacturer, the more blueprints they will have access to.

The Medium Risk and High Risk zones house minor factions who boast their own proprietary ship lines. Aligning with a minor faction does not influence a player’s existing Council faction alignments.

COUNCIL FACTION ALIGNMENTS
Each of the 3 Council factions has a mix of different corporate alignments:

  1. Each Council faction has one proprietary ship manufacturer
    a. Access to a proprietary ship manufacturer’s blueprints is restricted to a single faction. However, faction passes will allow for other factions to accumulate loyalty and unlock blueprints.
    b. The resources used in the proprietary blueprints are in higher abundance within the aligned faction region.
    c. The proprietary manufacturers are Pearce, Busan, and VZUS
    d. Owning and trading proprietary ships across factions is unrestricted, but is still subject to transport and transaction fees.

:bulb: Example: MUD Proprietary = Pearce

Access to more advanced Pearce blueprints requires increased Pearce loyalty. To increase Pearce loyalty, a player must be aligned with the MUD faction or have a MUD faction pass.

  2. Each Council faction has two dual-faction manufacturers
    a. Access to a dual-faction ship manufacturer’s blueprints is restricted to two factions. The manufacturer will have a major and a minor alignment. Players in the major faction will have the ability to unlock all blueprints, whereas minor factions will either have capped loyalty progression or limited blueprints available.
    b. The resources used in the dual-faction blueprints are in higher abundances within the major and minor aligned faction regions.
    c. The dual-faction manufacturers are Ogrika, Opal, and Calico
    d. Owning and trading dual-faction ships across factions is unrestricted, but is still subject to transport and transaction fees.

:bulb: Example: ONI Major = Ogrika, ONI Minor = Calico

Access to more advanced Ogrika blueprints requires increased Ogrika loyalty. To increase Ogrika loyalty, a player must be aligned with either the ONI faction or USTUR faction, or have an associated faction pass.

  3. Faction passes will allow players to gain access to Council factions manufacturer alignments outside of their original faction.
    a. Though a player can purchase faction passes, they may still be at a resource disadvantage due to the resources available in their starter Council faction region.

:bulb: Example: Player is USTUR and purchases an ONI faction pass. Now they will be able to accumulate loyalty with Busan and unlock all the blueprints, can unlock access to all the Ogrika blueprints, and can unlock a subset of the Calico blueprints.

OTHER FACTION ALIGNMENTS

  1. Jorvik (BYOS) - A faction of outlaws and pirates plaguing the medium and high risk zones
    a. Will require medium and high risk zone gameplay
    b. Faster loyalty accrual within the high risk zones
    c. Resources used in the blueprints are spread across all regions

:bulb: Access to more advanced Fimbul BYOS blueprints requires increased Jorvik loyalty. To increase Jorvik loyalty, a player must be aligned with the Jorvik faction and complete missions for them.

  2. ECOS - A faction of radicals who terraform via bombings in the medium and high risk zones
    a. Will require medium and high risk zone gameplay
    b. Faster loyalty accrual within the high risk zones
    c. Resources used in the blueprints are spread across all regions

  3. TUFA - A faction of metagenic creatures, scourge of the cataclysm
    a. Will require high risk zone gameplay
    b. Loyalty accrual only within the high risk zones
    c. Resources used in the blueprints are spread across all faction regions with the exception of some exotic high risk zone locked materials

  4. Photoli - An ancient race of light-based creatures and source of extremely advanced technology
    a. Faction agnostic loyalty accrual. The Photoli are not a faction, but doing their mysterious biddings will increase loyalty with them.
    b. Unlock access to secret manufacturing techniques using highly exotic materials found in the high risk zone. The techniques and exotic materials are integral in the manufacturing of Rainbow ships.
    c. Most complex and time consuming manufacturing line

Access to more advanced Rainbow blueprints requires increased Photoli loyalty. To increase Photoli loyalty, a player can be aligned with any faction, but must complete Photoli missions.

Hey Solace!
Jorvik are the BYOS brand. Some great ships coming from there, Packlite and Earp for example.
